I don’t know why it took me so long to start using Young Living Purification essential oil blend. It was just another essential oil blend… until one day I opened the bottle and smelled the incredible scent provided by the combination of lemongrass, citronella, rosemary, tea tree, lavender, and myrtle. Light and sweet with just a touch of spicy. If I wasn’t hooked immediately by the aroma, the list of uses was enough to win me over! This oil blend is considered safe for children 2 years of age and older, but I have used it in my homemade bug spray on my infant son without any issue (and he even has sensitive skin), because I am much more comfortable using this oil blend to repel bugs away from him than using ingredients in store bought repellants on him! This oil is also considered safe to use on dogs and horses. Use with caution on cats.
Some uses for Purification blend:
- Insect repellant
- Dilute 8-10 drops in a 8-10oz spray bottle filled with filtered water, shake & spray on like store bought repellant
- Adults may choose to apply a drop or two directly to wrists, behind knees and in elbow crease
- Use your diffuser outdoors
- Deter bugs and spiders from coming inside with a barrier of Purification at the base of your doors
- Insect bite & sting soother
- Apply directly to affected area to eliminate itching and stinging almost immediately! (dilute in a tsp carrier oil for use with children)
- Sanitize environment
- While traveling, inhale Purification oil during flights and in crowded atmospheres to protect yourself from pathogens found in the recirculated air
- Diffuse in your diffuser
- Air freshener
- Dilute 8-10 drops in a 8-10oz spray bottle filled with filtered water, shake up & spray on fabric furniture, carpet, and directly in the air to neutralize odors
- Diffuse in your diffuser
- Deodorizer
- If you need to freshen up on the go, wash armpits with water, then apply & rub in a drop under each arm pit
- Add a couple drops of Purification essential oil blend to shoes to help neutralize odors
- Add a few drops of Purification essential oil blend to a cotton ball to help eliminate stale air in the office or your child’s room
- Add Purification essential oil blend to your washing machine to freshen laundry
- Diffuse in your diffuser
- Zit zapper
- Combine with coconut oil and rub on the blemished area 2-3 times a day & watch your zit disappear!
- Wounds
- Gently rub a drop on a closed blister to help cleanse
- Dilute in a tsp carrier oil and gently apply to scrapes to sterilize
- Bed bugs be gone!
- Dilute 8-10 drops in a 8-10oz spray bottle filled with filtered water, shake & spray on your sheets to deter bed bugs
- Soothe sore throats

Rub a drop on the outside of your throat when you feel a sore throat coming on to prevent from worsening

- Purification is one of less than 5 ingredients in my homemade honey shampoo. It leaves my hair feeling soft, clean, and smelling amazing!
- Perfume & body products
- Combine with a carrier oil and apply to wrists and behind ears for a subtle perfume
- Use for scenting other homemade body products such as lotion, deodorant, etc.
